Happy New Year! 03/18/2010

Well hello again boys and girls.  The elves and I have had a lovely long rest.  Now it's the turn of my friend the Easter Bunny to get busy!  I always send a few dozen elves over to his place to help him get all those easter eggs ready!

Mrs Claus has been spoiling me rotten.  Today she made me some yummy fudge which we ate as we took a stroll through the spring flowers which are popping up through the snow.  The sun was shining, the birds were singing, everything in the world looked wonderful.

Sorry! 12/01/2009

I'm afraid I've been a little bit tardy with writing this blog and I do apologise, I really don't like to let people down.  As you can imagine though, things are really starting to get busy around here – what with all the toys to make and the presents to wrap!

During the cold evenings there’s nothing Mrs Claus and I like to more than read a good Christmas book.   It's a great way to relax during the long winter nights.

Just wanted to let you know that Mrs Claus has finished decorating our Christmas tree! It looks so wonderful I just had to share it with you.

Ho ho ho boys and girls, only 32 days until Christmas, are you getting excited?  Have you made your list yet?

I have to say that I am, even though I am really rushed off my feet.

The elves tell me that today it's time to start wrapping the presents.  We have a special wrapping room where it takes place, and Christmas music is played all day to keep the elves happy.  They have to wear special gloves that Mrs Claus knits to stop their little fingers getting sore.  Of course I help out, but their nimble fingers are much faster than my big fat ones!  In fact they all laugh at what a mess I make of wrapping, so if one of your presents isn't wrapped too well chances are it was done by me!

The Nice List 11/10/2009

The naughty and nice list is all computerized now which sure makes my life a lot easier.  I used to get terrible cramp in my fingers writing down the names of all the boys and girls in the world!

If you want to be on the good list, here's what you should do:

1.  Always be kind
2.  Always be polite
3.  Make sure you brush your teeth morning and night.
4.  Say please and thank you.
5.  Help out with chores - without being asked!
6.  Always put your toys away.
7.  Go to bed on time.
8.  Try to eat up your vegetables.
9.  Be extra kind to your brothers and sisters.
10.Smile!

Just remember to do these things and I'll make sure your name is on The Good List.

Can't Sleep? 11/09/2009

I don't know if you are like me, but sometimes I have real trouble getting off to sleep.  All those names whirling around in my head; who should be on the good list or the bad list; all the different  presents I need to make - it's enough to make you giddy!

I have a few tips that work for me:

1.  Have a nice hot drink before you go to bed (not tea or coffee!). I usually have hot milk and honey with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

2.  Try and go to bed at the same time every night.  Very hard for me because elves don't need much sleep and they are forever knocking on my door with something extra important to tell me. ( Nothing that couldn't wait to the morning between you and me!).  I think I had better get a Do Not Disturb sign for my front door!

3.  Try not to take naps during the day.

4.  Don't have a heavy meal or snack before bedtime.  Mrs Claus has made me cut down on the mince pies and I'm trying lettuce sandwiches instead - they're supposed to be soporific.

5.  Try listening to some relaxing music to help you drift off to sleep.  The one that works for me I bought at
www.relaxmusic.co.uk.  I love the internet, I can buy anything I like without leaving my armchair.  Makes shopping a lot easier because as you can imagine I do get recognised quite a lot when I'm out!!

6.  Make sure you're bedroom is nice and dark, not too warm but not too cold either.

Hope these tips work for you, there's nothing worse than staring at the ceiling all night.

Anyway todays joke comes from Redda the elf:

What goes red white red white red white?

Father Christmas rolling down a hill!

Thank you Redda!

Yesterday was the last day of Elf School until Christmas is over, and so we had lots of excited little elves running about celebrating the end of term.  Elf School breaks up this early because from now on we need all the help we can get, and all the little elf children come and help out in the workshop.

Last night we threw them a big end of term party.  Mrs Claus had made them lots of yummy food - chocolate snowballs, Christmas tree pizzas, hot buttered crumpets, popcorn and candy canes, all washed down with her delicious hot chocolate. I have to confess that I ate a little bit too much myself and had a bit of a tummy ache!

Then we played games and danced and sang Christmas carols.  What fun!

Today Alfred the elf has asked me to tell you his favourite joke:

How many elves does it take to change a light bulb?

Ten - one to change the light bulb and nine to stand on each other’s shoulders!!

Elf School 11/06/2009

The lists are coming in thick and fast, I love reading them and finding out what toys you young folk are asking for this year.  We've had to set up a new class at Elf School so that the elves can learn all about electronics because so many of you want Nintendos and Play Stations.  Luckily elves are very quick learners so they'll be no problems getting those little magic boxes made up!  I have to admit I quite like testing them out, just to make sure they work of course, in fact Mrs Claus often has to come and drag me out of the testing room!

Today's joke comes to you courtesy of Pumpkin, one of my happiest elves:

Who says oh! oh! oh!?

Santa walking backwards!

Thank you Pumpkin, I really enjoyed that one!

Thank You Elves 11/05/2009

I just wanted to use this blog to send out a great big thank you to all of my wonderful elves, there really wouldn't be Christmas without them!  They give me so much help and the amount of work they do is truly amazing.  I wouldn't be nearly so jolly if they didn't work so hard, so hooray for the elves!

And just to let them know how much I appreciate them I'll let them tell you two jokes today! These jokes come from two cheeky little fellows Lars and Spike:

What goes red white red white red white?

Father Christmas rolling down a hill!

What is Rudolphs favourite day of the year?

Red nose day!!!!

Weather today:  Extremely cold but we did see the sun!

More Letters! 11/04/2009

Hello boys and girls, isn't the time flying by?

This has been an extremely busy week for me - the letters are coming in thick and fast. This morning I came downstairs to find 5 big sackfuls of letters waiting for me, and it's only just November!  Mrs Claus and I love reading each and every one of your letters and finding out which presents you want.

The elves have been extra busy in the workshop too, they work so hard and I like to spoil them a bit with little treats.  They love sweet things and coconut ice is their very favourite so Mrs Claus makes lots and lots of it.

Today's joke comes from Jackson, he's the elf in charge of making wooden train sets:

What do snowmen eat for breakfast?

Snowflakes!!!

Ha ha that one made me chuckle.
